Lights and electricity available The key may be signed out at Algona Police Department Size: - 350' Centerline - 75' Straights - 24' Wide - AMB Timing System Track History In 1987 two local R/C enthusiasts got together with the city of Algona and got permission to build a dirt track by the river in what is now called Veterans Park. With the track being in the city park there are plenty of other things for the family to do while you race. There are several ball diamonds, a shelterhouse, playground equipment and two sand volleyball courts. Just down the road there is a shopping mall and several resturants. The Algona Radio Controlled Racing club is working with other clubs and track promoters to keep racing alive in Iowa. The track is host to serveral races in the Cornbelt Series, which is fast becoming the most prestigious ¼ scale series in the upper midwest. The track is QSAC sanctioned, and held a regional race in June of 2007 and will be holding another in late 2010. |
